Martin and Debbie Ford, who own Yeowood Farm, run the eco-friendly pool and operate it on a 'swimshare' basis. They came up with the idea of opening a pool after a visit to some friends who were running one. When they decided to give up pig farming and were left with a number of empty buildings, ‘Our Pool’ was born.
As well as free-range hens and cattle they grow 50 acres of miscanthus (a.k.a. elephant grass) that is used to create energy to heat the pool. The farm has its own solar panels which have been fitted to power the pool complex.
